Afrofuturist B-Boy and DJ, remix alchemist, legit funk phenomenon, Montreal’s Shash’U is truly one of a kind. He’s been burning down stages from Boiler Room, to Social Club (France), to Rotterdam Beats Festival (Netherlands), to Igloofest (Montreal) and to underground street dance compe-tition “Juste Debout” at Bercy.

With a musical career spanning ten years and having traveled throughout the world with his music and energetic DJ sets, Shash’U has collaborated with several international artists such as A-Trak, Chromeo, Sly Johnson, C2C’s On and On Records, Kaytranada and James DiSalvio of Bran Van 3000.

Shash’U kicked off 2015 with his debut Fool’s Gold EP Thru Da Night and quickly followed up with PWRFNK EP (03.31.15). Shash’U has a wildly self-assured sound that slaps futuristic, heavy bass over ’80s-inspired electro grooves, a musical genre soon to be recognized world-wide as PWRFNK.
